My now husband and I eloped in Alaska his past summer, August 2021, and wanted to incorporate some fun adventures for our special day.  One of these adventures included horseback ride in the mountains at Sunderland Ranch.  Katie and her entire team were so helpful and accommodating from the minute I first contacted them about setting up an evening ride, later then their normal business hours, for optimal lighting and photography.  The whole team was very friendly and knowledgeable about the horses and how to go about introducing them to my wedding dress, so they didn’t’ freak out.  My husband also had never ridden a horse before and was slightly apprehensive, the team helped him to feel comfortable and we ended up having the best time and have photos that we will cherish for a lifetime.  I highly recommend Sunderland Ranch for anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue or adventure, it was truly stunning and an overall great experience.

AMENITIES AT OUR ALASKA WEDDING LOCATION

Our wedding location offers something for everyone, from simple to grand. The Field & Mountian is an incredible 80 acres of hay that sweep right into Lazy & Red Mountains with the Chugiak all the way to the Inlet on a clear day!  It is absolutely movie worthy wedding venue!

The Clear High-Gabled Tent is perfect for hosting your reception or any larger function. Sides can come on or off depending on need. This site will require you to rent tables, chairs and Porta-potties. But the space is off like non other in Alaska!

*The Legacy Mountian Lodge is a luxury lodge that offers space for you to rent 40×40 white peaked tents. With the privacy of 20 acres of hay ground sweeping into the Lazy and Red Mountains, it still has all the conveniences you would expect from hosting from a home.  It has 2 kitchens making catering a dream. The warm logs invite you into the main room with 24ft ceilings that showcase Alaska at its best. Picture views from each room and high end linens and décor throughout the home. And the final touch is the brand new jetted hot tub on the spacious deck allowing you to relax after your dream day. Table, chairs and Porta potties will need to be rented to accommodate your guests.

*The Sunderland Ranch’s Barn is a warm backyard BBQ feel. The barn itself is operational but has a 20X60 space between the stall rows hosts rectangle tables perfectly. There are nice lawn areas to toss a ball or warm up at the fire pit. Our separate kitchen building is simple but has everything you need to serve a great outdoor meal. Enjoy axe throwing, horse shoes or other yard games. Have horses? The Olympic outdoor arena provides a great place for a quick set of gymkhana races or skill sessions. Tables, chairs and Porta-potties will need to be rented.

PLAN YOUR WEDDING UNDER A CLEAR TENT

Majestic views from every direction make this our clear 40x60x10’ high gabled event tent the way to enjoy your wedding day. Tent sides are available to keep your guests comfortable. We are able to heat with sides on if it is a cooler Alaskan day.

The full tent wedding venue space is nearly 100×200 which allows for seating outside of the tent for the ceremony and plenty of indoor seating for up to 200 guest under the tent depending on how you choose to layout tables & chairs; don’t forget the dance floor. Surrounded by mountian views from the Talkeetna Range to the Chugiak Range for a hundred miles in each direction, you will feel swept up in the moment! Imagine the shots your photographer can capture!
