At the Sunderland Ranch we are proud to offer trail rides for all levels. Boasting about 20 horses, many born and raised on the ranch, we are certain that you will enjoy your time with us. Our horses are mostly well-rounded quarter horses. While beautiful and well mannered, they are also sure footed and full of personality. So dust off your boots and spurs and don’t forget your hat! Your wrangler will give you a quick rundown of the do’s and how to’s to make your adventure a success. Get a feel for your steed as you head out on to one of our trails selected for your level of horsemanship. Its’s easy to book, and no experience is necessary.
All our trail adventures are fit for riders of any level. Rides are scheduled for up to 6-8 riders per 1 wrangler. All riders are required to sign a release waiver and children up to 18 years old must wear helmets. All riders must wear closed toed shoes or boots. If your party is larger than 6 riders, or if you have a child under 8, please call to book. Don’t forget to tip your horse and kiss your wrangler!
As you ride the trail out to our Homestead you will enjoy sweeping views of Buffalo Mine, Hatchers Pass and the Matanuska River below. This trail is an easy, but long ride, about 3 hours round trip.
Don’t forget to pack a lights snack. We will dismount at the Homestead property to take a short break and stretch your legs. Your wrangler will share stories of clearing and working the land. You may see our cattle out grazing or other wildlife.
